Musical Director – Margaret Tesch-Muller

Coro Innominata is delighted to welcome Margaret Tesch-Muller as our Musical Director from 2019.

Margaret is an internationally-performed composer, conductor and soprano who splits her time between Brisbane and Sydney. A sought-after guest conductor and experienced vocal specialist, Margaret has worked with choirs across three continents, including The Australian Girls Choir and the St Peter’s Lutheran Church Choir of Indooroopilly. Her music has been performed in England, Ireland, the USA and Australia, including concerts at the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Recital Centre and the National Opera Centre in NYC. In 2019, in addition to her new role with Coro Innominata she will continue her association with Queensland Young Voices and the Queensland Show Choir as their Associate Musical Director and Composer-in-Residence. She is currently undertaking a Master of Music (Composition) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the supervision of Dr Paul Stanhope, where she also sings with the Sydney Con Chamber Choir.

Associate Musical Director – Margot McLaughlin

Coro Innominata is also pleased to welcome Margot McLaughlin as our Associate MD. One of Sydney’s most respected choral conductors with over 40 years’ experience, Margot directed Macquarie University Singers from 1987 to 2008 and was Musical Director of the Sydney Trade Union Choir from 2011 to 2018. She has worked professionally with many other organisations, including Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Bel a cappella, the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra and Willoughby Symphony Choir and has prepared choruses for conductors such as Peter Seymour, Graham Abbot, Richard Gill and John Hopkins. Margot is the Musical Director of the seniors’ choir Beating Time and is Founding Artistic Director of Coro Austral. She has taken two choirs on performance and workshop tours to the International Festival of Choirs, Santiago de Cuba – the Australian Trade Union Choir in 2013 and Coro Austral in 2017.
