A CELEBRATION OF SUMMER IN AUSTRALIA
Usher in the long days of our hot Australian summer with music from across the centuries, celebrating a change of season and the familiar rhythms of the year’s end.
Featuring both musical director Margaret Tesch-Muller and our assistant director Margot McLaughlin, our program ranges from pastoral partsongs with their delightful lilting twists and turns, to languid summer anthems of storms and sunflowers by Clare Maclean, Edward Elgar and award-winning American composer Martin Sedek. We will also mark the festive season with three settings of Hodie Christus Natus Est, including a medieval-inspired version by Brisbane composer, Sandra Milliken.
Come and succumb to the languid pace of these songs of summer and enjoy this chance to consider concepts greater than ourselves.
